Insurance and Payment

Plans we accept

We are contracted and in network with these plans for counseling:

  • Aetna

  • Blue Shield of California

  • TriWest

  • Partnership HealthPlan of California

Not every clinician on our team bills every plan, which is why we match you with a clinician once your benefits are verified. That match takes into account both your plan and what you are working on.

If your plan is not on this list, please call us anyway at 530-338-0087. Self pay is available, and some plans reimburse for out of network care. We would rather walk you through your options than have you assume the door is closed.

Partnership

We are glad to see Partnership members for counseling. Partnership HealthPlan of California is a Medi-Cal plan, so when you call, please have your card ready and our billing team will confirm your eligibility before your first appointment.

Benefit Verification

Before you sit down with a clinician, our billing team contacts your insurance company. They confirm that your plan covers outpatient mental health care and find out your copay, whether you have a deductible, and how much of that deductible you have met this year. We usually have the answer within one business day.

To get started we need your insurance card, the name and date of birth of the policy holder, and a good callback number.

Payment

Your cost depends on your plan, so we check your benefits before your first session. Until your deductible is met for the year, you pay the rate your plan has set with us for each session. After that, your out of pocket cost drops to just your copay, which is listed on your insurance card.

We collect copayment at the time of service by cash or card. If you would rather not use insurance, or your plan does not cover the care you need, self pay is available and we will give you the rate over the phone.

Deductibles start over on January 1. That means your sessions in the new year will cost more than they did in the fall until you meet the new deductible.

Partnership members follow Medi-Cal rules, so the copay and deductible details above may not apply to you. We confirm what your plan covers when we check your eligibility.

Cancellations

We ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. A cancellation with less than 24 hours notice carries a $95.00 fee, which insurance does not cover.
